We’re a branding and creative agency. Our expertise lies in positioning or repositioning organizations (or brands), and executing marketing and sales strategies for them that result in dramatic growth. We help our clients to leverage these gains to expand globally, merge, acquire or be acquired, or simply become more successful in their continuing operations.

We specialize in the technology, pharma / biotech and consumer products industries. The marketplace tells us we’re effective at solving complex brand and business scenarios, but we like to keep things simple, strategic, differentiated and sustainable.

We don’t really believe in the incremental approach; we’ve learned that to win, brands need to be willing to break with the past and be unafraid to overturn their usual way of doing things.

We’re very progressive and agile, unburdened by the kind of bureaucracy usually found at larger independent and holding company-owned shops.

We work with CEOs, CMOs, and VP level marketing executives – and the CFO usually likes us too.

We work on important, strategic assignments.

We come up big, not small.

We are a practice.

“We work in an unorthodox fashion and regularly drive producers, engineers, studio managers and anybody else who happens to be around to distraction.

If it was a simple, painless process then I don’t think the records would have the same intensity or resonance. You have to gouge away and open the veins and find the s##t that really matters, and to do that sometimes you have to go to some dark places.”

Foster+Redmond recently launched The Orbital Factorie, an innovative social media focused team utilizing marketing and digital brand experience to enhance the correlation between social media tactics and core business strategy. During Orbital’s first public undertaking, Foster Redmond’s Christian Markley presented an engaging seminar focusing on the rising trend of using social media as a dynamic component of the overall business strategy. This is the second social media seminar that Christian has given to the members of the Upper Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce. In this second presentation, he expanded on the topics of Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn that were addressed in the first presentation in May 2010.

When utilizing social media tactics as business tools, companies must remain conscientious of its effectiveness and positioning through vigilant maintenance and monitoring practices. Christian’s presentation introduced local business owners to the intimidating world of social media and Facebook via information about the basic principles and how to effectively execute them in everyday business practices.

Things to remember in establishing an effective social media strategy:

Define your needs

Stay focused on your business objectives

Research and know your audience and competitors

Make sure all information is complete and accurate

Frequently interact and engage in discussions to increase your presence

By the end of the event, attendees possessed an increased understanding of the social media universe and its functionality as a cost-effective marketing device to easily interact with a diverse demographic. These SBO’s are now more aware of the options available to them in the social media space and how to select the best mechanisms for their individual business offering in order to devise effective objectives and reach the appropriate target audience. Social media and its complicated structure can be highly intimidating to the local SBO; Christian’s ‘Facebook for Business’ demonstrated the simple and appropriate ways that businesses can benefit from this global phenomenon and facilitated a confident beginning for The Orbital Factorie.

It looks like any other Atlantic salmon, and most likely tastes like one too. But this particular salmon is like no other, because it’s been genetically engineered. In each of its cells are spliced-in genes from two other fish species. This salmon’s bigger, better, faster and stronger because those genes make it grow to full size in half the normal amount of time.

That’s the way you want it to be launching your new company, or brand.

Think about it… If you limit the nutrients available to a species, if you do things the same way they’ve always been done, and if you never dare to incorporate different strands of DNA from other species (or industries), you can pretty much expect the results you get to be identical to the ones you’ve generated in the past. But if you’re willing to really innovate, add more of the right resources, splice some genes that you might not have altered in the past, and sequence everything beautifully, you’re bound to see MUCH faster and better growth when you go to market.

No one wants to be a small fry. Something to keep in mind for your next big launch.

In case you hadn’t heard, we opened a new studio in Philly earlier this year. Situated in the loft district south of Spring Garden, our new place was once part of the nation’s largest button factory and the sense of all the hard work done there over a century’s time definitely still hangs in the air. If you look closely, you can even find ancient buttons here and there that are embedded in the floors.

We made the addition mainly to accommodate clients visiting from out of town, because the city’s so much more convenient for people than heading north to our original place in Skippack, Montgomery County…which we’ll continue to maintain.

The creative talent thinks so too, since they mainly live downtown – best in the country btw. As we continue to build out the shop and move into different types of work (coming soon: a major wine account) this is right where we want to be.
